The Guide for Promotion of Raw Material Procurement for Business in Consideration of Biodiversity

The Responsible Procurement working group of JBIB (Japan Business Initiative for Biodiversity) has published “The Guide for Promotion of Raw Material Procurement for Business in Consideration of Biodiversity”.

We recognize that our business has a large impact on biodiversity and is reliant on ecosystem services including raw materials in the upper supply chains. These days companies also have a responsibility on the supply chain to consider biodiversity in the process from which the raw materials are taken.

The members of the working group have come together in the pursuit of business practices for sustainable procurement across our industry.

The working group has made this practical guide for the responsible procurement based on own practices and experiences to manage business risks relating to biodiversity and promote responsible procurement considering biodiversity conservation.
